General Admission Regulations & Eligibility

Rule 1 Qualifying Examination for Admission

B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. (General) Course

The B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (General) Course Semester-I examination shall be open to a candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary Part-II examination (10+2 Pattern) of the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto. A candidate who is placed under reappear category only in one subject in Hr. Sec. Part-II (10+2 pattern) shall also be eligible to seek provisional admission.

He/She shall also be allowed to appear in the B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. Semester-I examination provisionally on fulfillment of other statutory conditions provided that the result of the said examination shall be declared only after he/she clears the backlog of Higher Secondary Part-II examination under re-appear category.

Rule 2 Payment of Admission Fee

Each student seeking admission to the B.A./B.Sc. Course shall be required to submit the prescribed application form along with the requisite fee:

(i) For the 1^st and 2^nd semester courses at the time of seeking admission to 1^st semester.
(ii) For the 3^rd and 4^th semester courses at the time of seeking admission to 3^rd semester.
(iii) For the 5^th and 6^th semester courses at the time of seeking admission to 5^th semester.

Note on Academic Continuity: Provided the student continues his/her studies without interruption from 1^st to 2^nd semester, 3^rd to 4^th semester, and 5^th to 6^th semester. If there is a gap of one or more semesters, he/she will have to fill up the prescribed application form and pay the fee at the time of seeking fresh admission.

Rule 3 Dates of Admission & Academic Timeline

(A) Affiliated Colleges Falling Under Summer Zone

The admission of students to B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. / BBA / BCA / Honours course Odd Semesters shall start w.e.f. 10^th June to 10^th July as per the following schedule:

10^th June – 30^th June

Without Late Fee

1^st July – 10^th July

With Late Fee (As Prescribed)

Vice-Chancellor Discretion: The Vice-Chancellor may consider grant of late admission for 10 days only after the expiry of the last date (10^th July) on payment of the prescribed late fee. Thereafter, no admission shall be made under any circumstances.

Commencement of Classes: Class work shall commence from the 2^nd week of July and will continue up to 31^st October.
