National Cadet Corps (NCC Unit)

The National Cadet Corps came into existence on 16th April, 1948 and aims at creating a human resource of organized, trained, and motivated youth to provide leadership in all walks of life, including the Armed Forces. NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders are exempted from the written test of CDS / Indian Military Academy and are entitled to various career incentives.

Every volunteer enrolled in the college undergoes training consisting of regular parades, handling of light weapons, map reading, obstacle training, and extensive social service outreach. Cadets actively participate in blood donation camps, literacy campaigns, disaster relief, and Republic Day Parades.

Rules, Parade Requirements & Code of Discipline

  • Parade Attendance: Every enrolled cadet must undergo two parades of two hours each per week (minimum 40 parades per year) with at least 75% attendance to become eligible for certificate examinations and mandatory annual training camps (ATC).
  • Uniform Custody: Official uniforms must be maintained cleanly and returned at the end of the academic session to the Associate NCC Officer (ANO) before university examination clearance is granted.
  • Certificate Examinations: ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate examinations are conducted annually for cadets in their 2nd and 3rd years of training respectively under directorate supervision.
  • Insurance Coverage: All enrolled cadets are covered under insurance policies against any training mishaps during parades or specialized adventure camps.
  • Disciplinary Actions: Misconduct, indiscipline, or unexcused absence may lead to debarment from NCC benefits or strict disciplinary action by college authorities.
